Watermelon, watermelon

I'm trying to sing lullabies to Dalton, but the thing is I often don't know the words. I make up stuff... like Baby of Mine. I think I only know "baby of mine". Dalton doesn't know, he thinks it's the most beautiful song in the world, until he starts crying. :)
This is actually a pattern in my music knowledge. I am known to know a lot of songs-I've been challenged to radio wars where I have identify the song/artist (of course this is getting much harder with all these indie artist). The thing is I commonly hear the wrong words and sing them only to be embarrassingly corrected. Hehe. Or I'll be singing and Jack will ask what they just said and I'll be like "I don't know" and he is wandering why am I singing it like I know it. I'm just putting what I think would go if I wrote the song.
When I was little, my family would often drive in the car listening to oldies (to me this may be the best thing ever, something Jack has NEVER done! What?!). I remember one Sunday we were driving and I am singing away "Stop, in the neighborhood before you break my heart". My family roared in laughter. Yes, I was singing the Supreme's song "stop in the name of love". They still bring that up.
On a whole different subject-I follow Joy the Baker and she was talking about her 30 things before turning 30 list. She basically made a list for each number to 30 of things she wants to do. I love lists and they encourage me to accomplish goals so I decided to make a list of 32 things to do before I turn 32. Side note: I had to take a couple minutes to remember how old I was. Oh brother. Here is my list, but I need help with the higher numbers. If you think of any, share share!
1- complete 1 pull-up
2- surprise 2 families with dinner
3-send 3 people flowers
4-buy 4 people coffee
5-purchase 5 albums of new artists or that I don't own
6-enjoy 6 sunsets
7-able to run 7 miles again
8-try 8 new restaurants
9-compliment 9 strangers
10-Read 10 books
11-Tip waiter/waitress 11$ above average tip
12-Give 12 cupcakes to a deserving person
13-Give away 13 items I own
14-Enjoy a $14 bottle of wine with Jack for no reason

There's so much more to you than meets the eye

I found it. Jane Fonda's video where Leslie sings "Do it". Love the girl in the yellow underwear and purple midriff. And don't forget the guys. This is just awesome. You're welcome.

Leg Warmers

I have been occasionally doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred over the past couple years and love it. It's broken down into 3 cycles of 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs. It's about 25 minutes long, so it makes for a quick, effective workout. This is even more important now that I have less time because someone needs me every 2 1/2 hours. I just got the newest one and it is wonderful, too. This time she has 4 levels instead of just 3. I love it, so if you are looking for a different workout, this is a good one.
This reminds me of when I was young, my mother would have her friends over and they would all work out to Jane Fonda. I would sometimes join them and sing along "There's a power inside you, driving you on." Anyone remember that VHS? Those are some great memories. Why do workout videos no longer have original songs?Katherine so brilliantly reminded me to take pictures of Dalton with ET. How could I forget?! She thought of the great idea to take pictures with him to show how he is growing. Unfortunately, this will be the first one with him at 6 weeks. (I don't know if you can tell, but they have similar feet and bellies. They are also about the same size.)

Smiles and not so proper sounds from you know where

Dalton is smiling and focusing, kicking his legs like mad, and still continuing to fling his head around. Make sure you silence the video or you will hear me baby talking. But if you want to
hear him break wind, TURN IT UP!

One Month

Here is the beginning of many dress up pictures for Dalton. This is One month. Ole!

Visitors

Many claim we were mean to do this, but I say it was awesome. For our friends who were in town, we made them wait to hear the sex until they came to the hospital. Jack got lots of hate texts and calls, but I think they secretly loved it (or didn't). So we had many visitors at the hospital and we loved being about to have them walk in and being the one to tell them what we had and his name. It's only right for the prayers and love they've put towards Dalton, too.

Mary-she's wearing my shirt because Dalton peed on her :)
My friends, Vickey and Juliet. They taught me everything I know as a nurse.
Cousin Katie
We had Dalton at Centennial, which is where I used to work so I had some visitors from PACU. This is Carmen
Sweet Anna
Caroline and Traci (this is right before Caroline whacked DC on the head with
that caterpillar)
Brett, Hayes, Katherine, and Lilian
Mike, Carson, and Kim

One Month!

I can't believe Dalton is one month! It's been really fun getting to know him-the second week was hard. No sleep when I'm used to getting 9 every night and my hormones were a ragin'. Jack and our families have been very helpful. Jack stayed home the first week and my mom the second. His mom has also been over a couple of days. Once my body got used to the interrupted sleep and I figured out I had to nap and take a break, I was much better. But for a minute, it wasn't pretty. Now little DC is sleeping 6 hours straight for the past 5 nights! I can't believe it so hopefully this won't jinks it. He's also smiling at me when I talk to him, I posted a picture of him smiling at Stella. (all the redness is a rash from new detergent. I'm afraid he has my sensitive, pasty white skin :() We love to listen to oldies when we wake up in the morning and the generic lullaby channel on Pandora that plays rock songs. I've heard an Aerosmith and a Metallica song changed to an instrumental lullaby.
Our firsts: visit to Las Palmas, sushi, visit to dee and papaw, trip to the Cabin, Church, NFG, real bath, smile, peeing on daddy, peeing on mary, pooping on mommy.
Many have been asking about the dogs reactions, they mostly just sniff him. Abby hasn't really been interested, but Stella puts her big ol' long nose on him a lot. I think she just wants us to pet her.
Thank you for all of your help, food, the calls, and helpful tips. We love our friends. Friends are friends forever if the Lord's the Lord of them. (yes i did)
