PS. this is waaaaaay off topic, but I watched No Country for Old Men in my quest of watching all the winners of Best Picture Oscars last night. Does anyone have insight into the final scene or in the movie itself? I would love to discuss.
a little blog about my random thoughts, events, and how God has inspired me to experience more...

we need each other
God tends to teach me themes through periods of my life. Here's a few: surrender, worship, only hope, boundaries, and reconciliation. Right now I feel like God is teaching me about community. I have always had community, an amazing one, but now I have really been able to put my finger on it. I tend to try to do everything on my own, not valuing the community that God has put within my reach. I have learned to rely on others and to reach out and confess my need. God is stirring me into community, especially through our trip to Africa and our NFG. I have been blessed beyond my small vision of a community. God has given me so many great friends, family, and our church. It is humbling to know my need of my friends and one of the most courageous/difficult thing to let your friend carry you. I sometimes feel guilt when others take on so much of my junk, but easily love to take on theirs. This is not a community, it's just me helping others. Actually it's not helping when I don't let them help me. But when you introduce the collaborative work of each other it is electric. It amazes me of what God can do with his people when they put their trust in him, take his love, and transplant it into others around them. This can only be supernatural. All this to say... I love community now and have a deeper appreciation but still struggle to truly share my feelings, needs, and burdens. It is just a struggle for me. Does any of this even make sense? I'm rambling.
Dave and Buster's
So I learned a piece of information that could have been helpful after all these years of playing Ski ball... did anyone realize that there is a lightning rod at the bottom of the game and if you hit a ball in at the same point it lights up, you get double points?! Beth so greatly pointed this out and I never knew. 20 some odd years of playing ski ball and I never knew. Not that I would even be able to do anything about it. My NFG (neighborhood fellowship group) went to Dave and Busters this week for our fun night out. I can't believe I don't go here more often (well, I do because you can spend lots of useless time and money). We played a racing game, dance dance revolution, basketball, and a trivia game. Here are my prizes that I chose. Although I felt a little rushed, I was happy with my choices. Jack picked the hacky sack. I picked the yo-yo, gummi hamburger, and mint chocolate chip ring pop. Ring pops remind me of going to the baseball field in the summer and getting snow cones and ring pops. Here is me enjoying my gummi cheese burger. It was so good.
