I hate to do it, but

I'm going to have to make my blog private. Since I am starting to see professional clients, I need to make sure I make this part of my life available to friends. If you would like to be invited to my blog, let me know. I would love for you to continue to read!

Don't Judge before you Try!

Okay... some of you (I won't name names) will gross out and will judge, but I am challenging you to try it. Green Smoothies. I got the recipe from the Hello Veggie Blog, skeptical at first at how good it would taste, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very easy and I usually drink it for breakfast or after a workout. You also get some great veggie intake and you can barely taste it.
THE HULK
1 banana
roughly 1 cup of frozen pineapple (I have also used different berries)
1/3-1/4 c water
1-2 handfuls of fresh Spinach
Blend in a blender and poof! Delicious goodness. :)

It's official

Jack is official! He is legally a company-he got his LLC (limited liability company) and his company names is... Barrett Builders, LLC. I'm so proud :). He has an official business account and everything. It's all gone so fast. He's coming up with a logo currently... any ideas? He's also selling web based construction programs on the side. I think he is really enjoying it all and I can definitely tell a difference in his mood. It's great to have him doing something he loves and we are super thankful he's able to do it. I am a proud wifey.

New Job

I've realized that I haven't told everyone my news about my new job at Hope Clinic. This is where I did my internship and have been volunteering. I started in November at the front desk, hoping it would develop into a counseling job. Magically (no, not really. God TOTALLY planned this!!) there was this front desk position. I thought it would be longer before I would transition into doing some counseling, but two weeks ago I found out that I will be seeing some clients with Postpartum Depression. God is so great and he is really showing his faithfulness to me through this blessing. I can truly see where he moved my heart to volunteer, called me to counsel, get me through school, and lead me to this job. I know he doesn't give everyone insight into why things happen or where to go and I am so grateful for this. I absolutely love what they do at the Clinic and it is wonderful to be a part of it. So today, I chose to be thankful to him for all of this and pray it spills over to all areas of my life.
Yes, I am still nursing, once a week. It's nice to still do it, but not so much I lose it. :) Because I could look like Meredith.

Last Days

On our last two days, we took it a little bit easier because we had been getting up so early and going to bed late. Sunday morning, Jack and Rico got up at 6 and went Tarpon fishing. I just couldn't do it and I'm glad I didn't because they didn't even get a bite! They did have fun and Jack got to see a lot of San Juan from the water. After they got back we went to Rico and Mabel's church. It meant a lot for us to be there for Rico and I could tell they deeply love their church. It was smaller, about 60 people, and we were obviously the newbies. Several people throughout the service we found out were related to Mabel, her cousing, aunt, mom, and sister. It was great to meet them. Although I didn't understand a whole lot, maybe a word here and there, it was great to just be there with Rico and Mabel to experience their community. They did introduce us in the service and we gave a little wave. Afterwards we went to the condo, touristy area of San Juan and had lunch at an Italian restaurant. It was very trendy and had some breathtaking houses. Later that evening, Rico and Mabel made us a delicious dinner and we watched the Colts/Jets and Vikings/Saints games.
Monday we got ready to leave and Mabel took us to Old San Juan to get a few gifts. I also got a cookbook that Mabel said every Puerto Rican girl gets when she marries. Maybe I'll have a Puerto Rican night and make some food from it. We also got a cross for our wall of crosses. We went and saw Rico and he prayed for us, which made us all cry. It was such a great trip and both Jack and I did not want to leave, but we had great things to come back to. Maybe in the future, who knows?
Hope you didn't get too bored with the posts, but it will make you go visit one day!

Jealous

I wish I could be doing this every night...

This guy...

5 am and we leave for La Parguera for Jack to go scuba diving. He is the only one going and we gave him a hard time about it, but secretly, we all didn't mind. There is a great site to dive at La Parguera called "the wall", where there is a 90 foot drop. There was a dive group going out at 7:30 am, so that's why we had to go so early. I forgot to mention that Puerto Rico also goes by "island time". By that I mean that they never start or arrive on time and there is some wait times. Examples: Rico getting late to airport, waiting for plane for Culebra, meeting Rico and Mabel for dinner both nights, and arriving 15 minutes early to boat to go diving but leaving 30- 45 minutes later. NO WORRIES! I personally like it, it's refreshing, but it got on Jack's nerves because he is always on time. They also have a carefree mentality which in addition, gets on Jack's nerves. Rico tells us to drive around while we wait for him for dinner. Jack got a little peeved, but I love that stuff. Anyways, we had a great drive to La Parguera and got to see a beautiful sunrise. We dropped Jack off and he was so excited. Actually, I think Rico was just as excited. They both were like little boys, pacing back and forth... like waiting for Santa. One of the guides looked like that guy from Along Came Polly. You know the guy who hooks up with debra messing character on their honeymoon. He's all tan and long hair. I think he wears a speedo? Yeah, this guy had long wavy hair, a speedo, very tan, and little icky.
Rico, Mabel, and I went into the cute little island town and had breakfast. While we were there Rico's good friend, Fernando showed up. He lives in San Juan and has a house in La Parguera. He just happened to be here and he invited us to come on his sailboat. Naturally.
We stopped by his cute little house so Rico could help him repair a couple of things and I laid on his hammock while imagining living there. We got on the sailboat and headed out on the water. It was 85 degrees, beautiful day and we were on a sailboat. Perfect. We stopped and snorkeled a little and laid around. This little spot was a shallow area where boats park and hang out. There was a boat there with a grill where you could get "pinchos", which were kabobs. Jack's diving group met us around 12. Rico called the dive instructor to drop him where we were and Jack had no idea, so when he showed up, he was suprised to see us on a sailboat. We ate our pinchos and then Fernando took us to a great snorkeling spot. We saw lots of beautiful coral, fish, and some conch shells. Rico decided to get out and take pictures of the mangroves and yes, he tripped on a rock and our camera went in the water. Sadly, we had just purchased the camera before we left, but luckily, Jack got a cheaper one so it wasn't too bad. We got a good laugh and in return of Rico giving Jack a hard time about scuba diving, Jack gave him an equally hard time about the camera.
We had a great dinner in town, headed back to San Juan. We were exhausted!
